Telishia “Tee” Murray is the Director of Library and Learning Resources at Galveston College where she serves as part of the administrative team. She is a first-generation student from Freeport, Texas, and attended Brazosport College as a stepping stone into her academic journey.
Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Master of Science in Library Science with Certification in Advanced Management of Library and Information Agencies from the University of North Texas in Denton. Telishia is a doctoral candidate at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she will earn her Doctorate of Education in Higher Education.
Telishia is an organizational leader with over fifteen years of experience working in higher education, libraries (academic, public, and medical), and environments with particular skills in library management, data and content management, and teaching and mentoring. Telishia’s top five signature themes from Gallup Strengths are activator, input, command, achiever, and learner.
Without a purpose and a plan, Telishia would not have achieved any of the accomplishments above. Telishia’s purpose extends beyond any degree she has obtained. A person’s purpose in life has nothing to do with where they came from, family name, race, or socioeconomic status. Telishia has a passion for helping others and an inner drive for success, and she embraces change and diversity in every aspect of life.
