    The GC Library provides several private/group study rooms to be used by GC students for discussion, study, and research sessions. 

    • Study Rooms are located in the library and are available for student, faculty, and staff reservation. Due to high demand, rooms can be reserved for up to 3 hours daily.

    Every study room is equipped with the following:

    • A whiteboard
    • Tables and chairs
    • Power outlets
    • Dry-erase marker kits are available for check out at the Circulation Desk.

    How do I reserve a study room online?

    • Select an available (green) slot for the start of your reservation.
    • Submit Times.
    • Agree to Terms and Conditions.
    • Complete the Reservation Form and Submit Your Booking
    • Follow the link included in the confirmation email to confirm your booking. Failure to do so within 15 minutes of receiving the email will cause the request to be canceled. 

    Food and Beverages (See Library Food & Beverage Policy):

    • Light snacks sealed in wrappers (e.g., candy, granola bars, snack-size chips), except at computer stations. Items permitted in study rooms, computer lab, and open common areas:
    • Beverages with lids (e.g., water bottles, soda bottles, coffee cups with lids).

    Items not permitted in study rooms, computer labs, and open common areas (see Cyber Café regarding prepared meals):

    • Prepared meals (e.g., burgers, fries, pizza, sandwiches, salads).
    • Beverages without lids.

    The Cyber Cafe is a collaborative space for students to eat, research, study, or de-stress. The Cyber Cafe has:

    • Six computers with internet, printing, vending machines, and a microwave.  

    The Flexible Learning Space is a flexible, technology-accessible space with modular furniture, electrical outlets, and moveable whiteboards to facilitate collaborative teamwork.  

    • Seats 40
    • Laptops available for checkout (library use only)
    • A media Table for collaborative learning and study is available. 

    This area is also reserved for classroom instruction. If this area is reserved for instruction, please use other seating areas in the library.

    The Computer Lab (R-116) is located inside the library and is open to Galveston College students, faculty, and staff with a current Galveston College Whitecaps portal or network login. The computer lab has:

    • 24 computers are located in the Computer Lab
    • A printer is located in the lab
    • Access to Office 365
    • A GC ID and password are required
    • Guests log-in is not available
    • Library staff are available for research assistance
