    Books cover almost any topic, fiction or non-fiction. For research purposes, you will most likely look for books that combine all of the information in one topic. 

    Books are used:

    • when looking for large amounts of information on a specific topic
    • to clarify the meaning of a topic
    • to find historical information
    • to find summaries of research 

    There are a variety of ways to search for books at GC Library: 

    Library Catalog (Whitecaps Cat Simple Search)

    • The library catalog is a keyword based simple search that provides the call number, location, and availability of all books, periodicals, DVDs, CDs, and more available in the GC Library. 

    EBSCO eBooks

    • The Library has more than 27,000 eBooks are available 24/7 for browsing, searching, and virtual check-out. TexShare's eBook collection includes titles from the world's leading business, technology, trade, reference, academic, and scholarly publishers.
      • If you accessing EBSCO eBooks off campus, you must sign in using your GC ID and password.
